Officially opened since January 2012, the full-time beach volleyball training centre (FTC) provides year-round high performance beach volleyball training opportunities for national team and development beach volleyball athletes.

Since its inception, the centre has been the location of the administrative offices, training courts and other services offered to our beach national program athletes.  The centre is also host to various development team trials and provincial-based programs.

The beach program high performance director is former Canadian national team player Ed Drakich.

Rio 2016 saw Canada have a full quota of four beach teams (two male and two female) entered in the Olympics for the first time.   Three of the teams finished in the top ten and Canada has high hopes for its beach teams on the road to Tokyo 2020.
