Women’s NextGen Selection Camp

RICHMOND, B.C.: The women’s NextGen selection camp, to be held at the Richmond Olympic Oval, is open for registration until April 03, 2020. The trials, May 03 to 07, are designed for any athlete aspiring to be a part of the journey to qualify for the 2024 Olympics and beyond.

"We want athletes who think they have what it takes to help us build on current National team successes and push for future Olympic qualification to attend," says Volleyball Canada’s women’s NextGen coach, Shannon Winzer. "We now have a program in place to work with more athletes earlier in their playing careers, and there is a clear pathway to the Senior A team through the NextGen program. This is not an age-restricted program, if you have the potential to play in the 2024 Olympics then we want to see you at trials!"

Selected athletes will have the opportunity to participate in up to four international tournaments during the 2020 season.

"With the establishment of the women’s Next Gen team (Senior B team) last summer we have been able to work with more athletes than ever before, and our priority is to ensure that targeted athletes are getting meaningful international competition across the summer as we set our sights on Paris 2024."
