1999 PanAm Games
Men's Senior Team

Team

Canada’s Men’s Team Team first participated at the Pan American Games in 1959, and it was twenty years later, at the Team’s sixth ever Pan Am Games, that the Team won its first medal, a bronze.

Canada’s Men’s Team repeated this feat at the 1999 Pan American Games, which were held in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Canada’s 3-0 loss in the semi-finals to eventual silver medallist Brazil gave them a bronze medal match-up against Argentina, with Canada winning 3-1 by scores of 22-25, 25-19, 28-26, 25-23.

Cuba went on to defeat Brazil in the tournament final, by a score of 3-2.

Overall, Canada as a nation finished 3rd in total medal count, behind the US and Cuba.
