The purpose of the U17 Program is to identify and select a group of young athletes with the attributes consistent with high performance and offer them the opportunity to represent Canada at the 2024 U17 Pan Am Cup in Colima, Mexico from June 15 to 23.

Note that this event is not a qualifier for future competitions.

Athletes MUST:

• Be born in 2008 or later
• Be Canadian citizens demonstrated by a Canadian passport valid until at least February 11, 2025

Athlete Identification Process

All interested athletes must register on the GMTM platform from March 26 to April 12, 2024. CLICK HERE (Fee: $50 USD)

Selection Process

Volleyball Canada will select and invite 12 athletes to Toronto. There may be 1 training session in the evening of June 14 (TBC). The team will stay in a hotel that night and fly to Mexico the next day.

March 26 – GMTM website open for video submissions
April 12 – End of video submission
April 13-15 - Athlete selection
April 22 – Invitations sent out
April 26 – Deadline for invitation acceptance
June 14 – Arrival of selected athletes in Toronto
June 15 – Departure to Colima, MEX
June 15-23 – U17 Pan Am Cup
June 24 – Return to Canada

All athletes selected to the Program will be required to pay a $3000 program fee/fundraising obligation. The money raised from these fees will be used to offset travel, training, and competition costs for the program.

Athletes must make their own arrangements to travel to Toronto on June 13 (afternoon). Volleyball Canada will cover the cost (and the arrangements) of the flights to Mexico AND the return flights home for everyone.
