U21 Men's Indoor - 2026 Program Info
The purpose of the National U21 Team is to identify, select and train a group of athletes who have potential or demonstrated international skill and experience to represent Canada at the international level.
General information
Volleyball Canada will be hosting the U21 Men’s National Team Program this summer. The program will provide identified athletes with a full-time training environment that focuses on technical and tactical development in preparation for the 2026 U21 Men's NORCECA Pan American Cup. Athletes will have access to a full coaching staff and integrated support team to guide their development and growth as a high-performance athlete. Volleyball Canada will select athletes from across Canada with the attributes consistent with high performance and the potential to compete for Team Canada’s Senior Men’s National Team in the future.
Athlete eligibility
All athletes MUST:
- Be born in 2006 or later
- Be Canadian citizens and have a valid Canadian passport to January 31, 2027 or later
- Have Canada as their Federation of origin
Athlete identification and selection
Step 1 - Virtual athlete identification process through SportLomo
Athletes must complete the online application form through SportLomo: CLICK HERE TO REGISTER
Please ensure that you gather the following information and videos* as they will be required to complete and pay for your registration:
- Height (feet and inches)
- 1-Hand Reach (feet and inches)
- Spike Touch (feet and inches)
- Block Touch (feet and inches)
- Introduction video (under 1 minute: present yourself briefly by stating your name, your age, your club, etc.)
- Highlight video (3-5 minutes: combination of your highlights)
- Full game video (one full set or one full game)
*Videos should be uploaded to a platform like YouTube because you will need a URL link to complete your application. When copy/pasting the link in your application, please ensure that it is working correctly.
Online application Fee: $80+GST CAD
Application Opens: February 2, 2026
Deadline: February 28, 2026 at 11:59pm ET
Step 2: In-person Selection Camp
Based on their virtual applications, 24 to 28 athletes will be invited to an in-person tryout at the Selection Camp in Calgary, AB from June 2-6, 2026.
Invitations will be sent out during the week of March 30, 2026.
Selection Camp registration fee: $2000 + GST
- Includes:
Accommodation from June 2 to 6 (check-in at 4pm, check-out at 11am)
Meals from June 2 to 6 (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)
Transport from/to the airport from/to the selection camp accommodation on June 2 and June 6 - Does not include:
Travel to Calgary on June 2
Travel home for non-selected athletes on June 6
Step 3: Final Athlete Selection
16 athletes will be selected to train leading up to the competition.
14 athletes will be selected to participate in the U21 Men's NORCECA Continental Championship.

June 21-29: U21 Men's NORCECA Pan American Cup (Guatemala City, GUA)
Program Fee
$6000 + GST
- The 16 athletes selected to the team will be nominated for Sport Canada assistance (carding) for the allowable minimum of 4 months at $1305/month. Athletes will also receive tuition support of up to a maximum of $5500 per year (Tuition support is available for courses at Canadian Universities or Colleges that are publicly-supported).
- Includes:
Training and competition gear
Administration, coaching and IST staff support
Daily travel during training and competition
Accommodation and meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) during training and competition
Travel to/from competition at a designated Canadian airport - Does not include:
Travel home from the designated Canadian airport on June 29
