Alberta to host the 2025 Men’s U21 Volleyball Pan American Cup
April 14, 2025: Volleyball Canada is pleased to announce that the 2025 Men’s U21 Pan American Cup will be hosted at the 7 Chiefs Sportsplex & Chief Jim Starlight Centre, located on the Tsuut’ina Nation near Calgary, Alberta.
The tournament will be held August 5 to 10, 2025 and include teams from the NORCECA and South American volleyball confederations.
"We are looking forward to working with the staff at 7 Chiefs and our partners in the Calgary area to host a competitive event for up-and-coming athletes from Pan American countries," said Alan Ahac, Director of International Events for Volleyball Canada. "This is an opportunity for fans in the area to support developing athletes in a fun, family-friendly environment."
The last U21 Pan Am Cup was held in Cuba in 2023, and Cuba won that tournament over the USA for the gold. Canada was bronze medalist after beating Puerto Rico in the final for third place.
Canada last hosted an international event at 7 Chiefs in 2022 – women’s Volleyball Nations League.
Volleyball Canada looks forward to working with its local partners including Tourism Calgary and Volleyball Alberta to boost the awareness and quality of this international event for both players and fans alike.
"As Alberta prepares to host the 2025 Men’s Volleyball U21 Pan Am Cup, we’re excited to see our community come together to support this high-performance event. It’s an opportunity for our members to engage with the sport internationally and showcase the warmth and enthusiasm that define our province’s volleyball culture,” said Diane Clarke, CEO, Volleyball Alberta.
"We are incredibly proud that Calgary has been chosen as the Canadian host city for the 2025 Men’s Pan American Cup. This is going to be some of the best men’s volleyball action seen on Canadian soil, right here in Calgary," said Carson Ackroyd, Tourism Calgary’s Senior Vice President, Sales. "We’re thrilled to roll out our signature hospitality and vibrant community spirit for these emerging stars in men’s volleyball, coaches and fans from North and Central America and the Caribbean."
