Canada looking ahead to next VNL contest

June 16, 2023: In today’s Volleyball Nations League action, Türkiye got the best of Canada’s women’s team in a 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-20) sweep in Hong Kong.

"Türkiye is a very strong team, they controlled first contact well and were more physical than us... and it was not our best showing today," admitted head coach Shannon Winzer. "We are capable of putting top teams under more pressure than we did today. We now need to focus on our next game vs Dominican Republic. This is a team we know well and have had some good battles with; both of us being challenger teams I think it will be an exciting match up."

Alexa Gray led Canada in offense with 17 attack points.

Canada meets Dominican Republic, a familiar team from the NORCECA confederation, at 1:30 am ET (13:30 local time) to wrap up women’s week 2 of VNL in Hong Kong.
