Canadian teams complete Beach Volleyball U21 World Championships

December 17, 2021 – Canada had three teams at the 2021 FIVB Beach Volleyball U21 World Championships in Phuket, Thailand.

Ontario’s Ava Mann and Kaylee Glagau fell to Italy’s Valentina Gottardi and Mergherita Tega 2-1 (21-14, 16-21, 17-15) in the first elimination round, after going 1-2 in the main draw.

Fellow Canadians Rachael Meilikhan and Alexandra Lachapelle, from Quebec, saw their run come to an end versus the Czech Republic’s Michaela Binkova and Nylie Neuschaeferova, 2-0 (21-12, 21-11). They went 2-1 heading into their final game.

The lone men’s team, Alberta’s Colby Nemeth and Joshua Gagnon, went 0-3 in the main draw of the event, failing to qualify for the elimination rounds.
