Women’s Next Gen Training Squad Set
June 13, 2025: Volleyball Canada has announced the 20 athletes selected to the 2025 Next Gen Roster. The Next Gen program trains at the Women’s National Training Centre in Richmond, B.C. from June until mid-September.
"Volleyball Canada’s Next Gen Program is an entry point for any athlete wanting to represent Canada on the world stage and is key to the future success of the women’s program. This program enables us to identify athletes with the potential to make an impact for Canada over the next four years and work with them across the summer introducing them to Senior National Team systems and the expectations of being a National Team athlete," explains Shannon Winzer, High Performance Director, Women's Indoor
"The Next Gen program also provides some of these athletes an opportunity to compete internationally in targeted events, which is critical for anyone aspiring to play for Canada in the pursuit of Olympic qualification and podium performances."
Potential competition opportunities include the 2025 U23 NORCECA Pan Am Cup (athletes born 2003 or later), July 25-Aug 2, 2025 (Mexico), NORCECA Pan Am Cup August 1-11 (Mexico), and NORCECA Final Six Sept 13-22 (Mexico).
As part of the program, athletes will have access to dedicated coaching staff and integrated support team to aid their development and growth as a high-performance athlete.
