Dates announced for 2022 Beach Nationals

August 23, 2021: Volleyball Canada is excited to announce that the 2022 Beach National Championships will be held in Toronto, August 19 to 21 at Ashbridges Bay.

“After the cancellation of the past two Beach Nationals, we are excited to be bringing Beach Nationals back to Toronto,” said Sandra de Graaff, director of domestic events for Volleyball Canada. “We are thrilled to be planning our return to Ashbridges Bay and getting back into the sand with an expanded Beach Nationals experience.”

Beach Nationals is an open tournament hosted for Youth and Senior categories. The event focuses on providing a competitive environment for athletes from across the country vying for the title of National Champion. Originally planned for 2021, the 2022 event will be the first to host age-class categories for 15U boys and 17U boys and girls.

Senior events will have a combined purse of $15,000. The last Beach Nationals was held in 2019 and included more than 200 teams from 10 provinces. Volleyball Canada National Team members will again be entered in the Senior categories next year.

New for 2022, Volleyball Canada will also be hosting an adult recreational tournament. Originally planned for 2021, this event is an open tournament providing the Beach Nationals experience and bragging rights of being crowned the first adult recreational champions.

Also included at the 2022 Beach Nationals will be Provincial Champions Clinic, Skills Competitions, and Try-Beach Clinics.

Further details, including registration, will be announced at a later date.
