Volleyball Canada will be hosting the NextGen Men’s National Team Program this summer at the National Training Centre in Gatineau, QC. The program will provide identified athletes with a full-time training environment that focuses on technical and tactical development in preparation for the 2025 competitions. Athletes will have access to a full coaching staff and integrated support team to guide their development and growth as a high-performance athlete.

The purpose of the NextGen Program is to identify and select a group of athletes with the attributes consistent with high performance and offer them the opportunity to represent Canada at the 2025 Pan Am Cup in Mexico from August 24 to 31. Note that a few athletes may be asked to join the Senior A team at some point during the summer.

All athletes MUST:

• Be Canadian citizens and have a valid Canadian passport to December 31, 2025 or later
• Have Canada as their Federation of origin

Interested athletes must register on the GMTM website 

Registration fee: $60 USD

Volleyball Canada will select and invite 28-32 athletes to Gatineau for a selection camp from May 2nd to 8.

Athletes invited to the selection camp must make their own arrangements to travel to Gatineau on May 2nd.

March 5 – GMTM website open for video submissions
March 16 – End of video submission
March 17-21 - Athlete selection
Week of March 24 – Invitations sent out
April 3 – Deadline for invitation acceptance
May 2-8 – Selection camp in Gatineau
May 9 to August 22 – Training in Gatineau
August 23 to 31 – Senior Pan Am Cup, Mexico

• Registration fee on the GMTM website: $60USD
• Selection camp fee:
  • Option 1: $500 (camp only). Hotel and meals NOT included.
  • Option 2: $1000 (camp + hotel). Meals NOT included.
• Program fee: Athletes selected to the NextGen program will be required to pay a $1500 program fee/fundraising obligation. The money raised from these fees will be used to offset travel, training, and competition costs for the program. Please note that the program registration fee does not include food and accommodations.
• Athletes selected to the team will be nominated for Sport Canada assistance (carding) for the allowable minimum of 4 months at $1,305 per month. Athletes will also receive tuition support up to a maximum of $5500.00 per year (covers tuition in Canadian Universities only).
