2026 Women's Indoor Next Gen Selection

Volleyball Canada will host the Women’s Next Gen program at the Women’s National Training Centre in Richmond, B.C. from June 8 until late-September 2026. This program offers selected athletes a full-time high-performance training environment that focuses on technical and tactical development in line with our senior team.

Athletes will have access to dedicated coaching staff and integrated support team to aid their development and growth as high-performance athletes. Potential competition opportunities include the 2026 NORCECA Pan Am Cup Sept 9-19 (León, Mexico), and NORCECA Final Six Sept 19-28 (Mexico).

In addition to selecting athletes for our Next Gen team, Volleyball Canada is also identifying athletes for the U21 and U23 teams.

  • U21: Pan Am Cup in USA July 5-13, 2026 (athletes born 2006–2008)
  • U23: Pan Am Cup in Mexico Aug 30-Sept 7, 2026.

Volleyball Canada will select 16 to 18 athletes from across Canada with the attributes consistent with high performance, and the potential to compete for Canada’s Senior Women’s National Team in the future.

"Volleyball Canada’s Next Gen Program is an entry point for any athlete wanting to represent Canada on the world stage and is key to the future success of the women’s program. This program enables us to identify athletes with the potential to make an impact for Canada over the next four years and work with them across the summer introducing them to Senior National Team systems and the expectations of being a National Team athlete.

"The Next Gen program also provides some of these athletes an opportunity to compete internationally in targeted events, which is critical for anyone aspiring to play for Canada in the pursuit of Olympic qualification and podium performances."  Shannon Winzer, High Performance Director, Women's Indoor

The selection process for the Next Gen team (outlined below) is also an opportunity to identify athletes for the U21 and U23 Pan Am Cup teams. Any athlete who wishes to be involved at those levels should submit an online application.
