#Give5 keeps the dream alive!

Join the women’s team on their podium journey

The Women’s National Team #Give5 campaign has not only raised crucial funds for training and competition but has also helped inspire the next generation of players.

#Give5 provides youth players and clubs from across Canada a unique connection to the Women’s National Team through fundraising and direct engagement with players. Clubs simply add $5 to their registration fee, which goes directly to the National Team program and become members of the #Give5 program.

20 clubs from six provinces participated in the 2020 #Give5 campaign raising more than $13,000, with all proceeds going to the Women’s Team. Fundraising dollars supported our Senior National Team in hosting a 10-day training camp leading up to the Continental Olympic Qualification Tournament, allowing for more time to train.

As part of our campaign prizes, National Team athletes connected with more than 180 youth club athletes through individual Q&A sessions as part of the #Give5 campaign.

"It was a really amazing opportunity to meet the National Team players online, they are a huge inspiration to me and so many others and they are somewhere in their career that I hope I might be able to get to," said Thao-Mi Ha, a player with the Apex Avalanche. "Just to be able to ask questions and almost get to interview them is such a special experience."

The fundraiser - a collaborative effort by Volleyball BC and the Women’s National Program host committee, Pacific Volleyball Society, and Volleyball Canada - has the goal of engaging with more than 30 clubs in 2021. Clubs participating in the campaign for 2021 will have the opportunity to engage with the National Team through dedicated online Q and As, receive coaching support from National Team staff, and win exclusive prizes.

If your club is interested in joining the #Give5 campaign and would like to support our Women’s National Team athletes work towards their Olympic dreams, please visit our Support Us page and the #Give5 Campaign tab.

*Note: there is no set amount that clubs must donate; the #GiveFive model is a suggestion where clubs can add $5 to their tryout or program registration fee and proceeds will go to the #Give5 campaign. However, we recognize these are challenging times for Canadians and sport programs, and we appreciate all donations.

Other ways to help the team - Rally Together clothing and/or direct donation (take receipts are issued for charitable donations)
