July 12, 2022: The 2022 Men’s NORCECA Final Six Pan American Cup is underway in Tepic, Mexico, with the Canadians already picking up their first win versus Team USA 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-21).

The winner of the event will qualify for the 2023 NORCECA Continental Championship, while teams will also earn points to qualify for the 2023 Pan American Games.

“We have a young squad, we don’t have a lot of international experience, but we are really excited about this group because they have physical talent and great potential,” head coach Dan Ota told NORCECA.

Canada plays one game a day throughout the July 11-15 round robin, with matches versus Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico still to come. The Semifinals take place on July 16 followed by the Finals on July 17.
