Volleyball Nations League is coming back to Ottawa

Feb. 25, 2022:  Ottawa will play host to eight of the top teams in men’s volleyball this June 7 to 12.

The men's teams playing in Ottawa at the Arena at TD Place include Canada, Poland, France, Serbia, Argentina, Italy, Germany and Bulgaria. This will be the first major event for Canada since the Olympics in Tokyo. France is the reigning Olympic gold medalist team.

The FIVB’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL) is a flagship annual volleyball event that was established in 2018. The new format of the competition will see 16 men’s and 16 women’s teams competing in pools of eight teams during the pool phase. With the new format in place, each team will play 12 matches in their pools across three weeks of competition, consisting of four matches between the Tuesday and Sunday of each week.

"We’re so excited to have VNL back with more action and opportunities to witness so many high-level teams in Ottawa," said Volleyball Canada’s Director of International Events, Alan Ahac. The event was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic and then held last year in a “bubble” format in Italy.

Be the first to get men’s VNL 2022 tickets. Packages go on sale to the public on Feb. 25 at www.TDPlace.ca. Single session tickets will be available at a later date.

Please note: Tickets for the women’s VNL event in Calgary will be for sale in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
