NOV. 4 2024:  Volleyball Canada’s 2025 Women’s National Excellence Program (NEP) application process for youth athletes from across Canada is now open for registration through the GMTM platform.

The Women’s NEP program is a full-time daily training environment for 16-20 athletes selected from across Canada in grades 10-12 from September through to December 2025 at the iconic Richmond Olympic Oval, in Richmond BC.  The program provides technical and tactical on-court training in line with our Senior Women’s National Team Program as well as strength and conditioning, access to physiotherapy and medical in addition to educational sessions in body management, nutrition and performance psychology. While part of NEP all athletes receive academic support for their continued studies online and access to mental health and wellness.

The NEP identification process will provide any youth female athletes currently in grades 9-11. To be considered for NEP 2025 interested athletes will be required to upload their profile, highlight video, physical testing data to GMTM and full set/game footage, for review by the selection committee. GMTM application is the first step in identification for our next NEP 2025 intake with applications due November 20, 2024. The registration fee for your GMTM application is $50.00 USD.

Select athletes will then be invited to attend one of the in-person regional identification camps being delivered throughout Canada from December to March.  
 
The schedule for in-person identification camps is as follows:

Saskatchewan - December 6 & 7, 2024
Ontario - January 4 & 5, 2025
BC - January 11, 2025
Alberta - Edmonton - January 18; Calgary - Jan 19, 2025
Manitoba - TBC
Quebec – during the week of March 3-6, 2025
Nova Scotia - TBC
Final selection of NEP 2025 athletes will take place in the Spring of 2025.
