Women’s National Excellence Program

Volleyball Canada is pleased to announce the 18 athletes selected for the 2026 National Excellence Program (NEP).

Entering its seventh year, the women's program conducted its annual talent identification process consisting of virtual applications and in-person ID camps delivered across the country, with the final list of athletes invited to train full-time at the Richmond Olympic Oval in BC in the fall of 2026.

NEP provides a full-time daily training environment for athletes in grades 11 and 12 from September to December. In addition to technical and tactical training in line with the Senior Women’s National Team, NEP provides competition opportunities with local university and college programs, strength and conditioning, nutrition education, mental performance, as well as ongoing educational support.

"The National Excellence Program is crucial part of the Women’s National Team in identifying and developing top talent in Canada from an early age. The current level across Canada is extremely promising, with the selected individuals being exceptional athletes. Women’s volleyball in Canada is entering an exciting era and I am thrilled to work with the next generation of athletes," said Next Gen Head Coach Matt Krueger.
